Q & A WITH JULIE CHEN
Hello houseguests! You’re all so patient, thank you for your patients, how’s everyone doing? Well, last week we talked about the idea that once the first eviction takes place the game usually kicks into full gear, and that certainly seems to have happened houseguests.
Julie. Jason let me start with you, we saw some fireworks erupt this week between you and Shelby, how are things between the two of you now?
J. I think we’re doing well now, I think um me and Shelby are similar, yet different, so I think that’s why were quick to but heads, plus it was so early in the morning, don’t bring me no bull early in the morning cause I might have to snatch your wig. So I think me and Shelby are in a good place now and you know its different living with a bunch of people, I think were ok.
Julie. Shelby, all good between you and Jason?
S. Yeah, I mean just try not to do to many lock outs, don’t keep him away from his cigarettes and I think we’ll all be fine.
Julie. By the way you look very cute in that caddy outfit. I think you might miss it when you don’t have to wear it anymore.
S. Thank you, I will, as long as I don’t have another allergic reaction.
Julie. Oh yeah no, we don’t want that. Now Shelby tell me what’s the hardest thing living under one roof with all of these roommates?
S. Um, not having any alone time I would say, definitely, I love all of you but I definitely need a break from all of you.
Julie. Don’t take it personally everyone. Justin, Justin we watched you go toe to toe with Monte this week, were two able to put that behind you before he left the house?
J. Most definitely, you know I live and let go baby, I don’t never dwell on anything you know for a very long time, I just needed my space, and basically I stayed away from him and he stayed away from me and I calmed down and I was able to be a man and shake his hand after and uh let him know there’s no harm no foul ya dig.
Julie. So you’re good with him?
J. Yeah everything gravy.
Julie. And just for the record only my husband calls me baby. Thank you. #DontCallJulieBaby
Julie. Neeley, let me turn to you.
N. Okay boo.
Julie. Boo! That’s my name for him! *laughs* this is all getting very personal. Neeley you were very upfront with Monte about how he was being perceived in the house, did this confrontation change the way you voted?
N. Um, everyone in the house knows that I didn’t have any issues with Monte, Monte and I were real cool, and yeah, I never saw anything with my own eyes, I never heard anything personally, it definitely affected how I perceived him and how I voted because you can’t say certain things, and you can’t do certain things and there not be repercussions to it, so absolutely um I love him he’s a great guy but it absolutely affected how I perceived him after the fact absolutely.
Julie. Thank you. Whitney, now Whitney you were not afraid to speak your mind do Danielle this week following the veto competition, what was that all about?
W. Ok, well actually Jason and Morgan thought that I was mad at them cause we were all just talking during the veto ceremony so when I heard that they thought that I was upset with something they had said I definitely wanted to clear the air and be like no that had nothing to do with you’all this is why I was upset and I told Danielle that I just felt it was disrespectful to from what she’d done, but I like to handle things not like Justin, and like get away from me, I like to handle it peacefully so that’s why I wasn’t afraid to tell Danielle like I just thought it was disrespectful and we were able to handle it in a calm matter, just us two talking.
Julie. What was it that she did that you thought was disrespectful, and is everything ok between you and Danielle now?
W. When Monte had missed a shot, she stuck her tongue out at him and I just thought it was unsportsmanlike to do that, um, but yeah, now that everything has been laid out there on the table, she apologized and I’m sure she was just caught up in the moment, she was on the block so that’s a lot of pressure too, but everything is A-okay, no hard feelings.
Julie. Danielle any hard feelings on your side?
D. Oh no not at all, um I felt like I wanted to defend myself to Whitney and let her know that I wasn’t trying to be disrespectful, I felt like I was being attacked, and I might not have handled it the best way but when you’re in that moment when pressures on and stressed and you’re on the block next to this person who is being rude to you behind your back, its like you can only take so much, and me sticking my tongue out is definitely not what someone who is 23 years old does but yeah I was happy I was able to talk to Whitney and just clear the air with her.
Julie. Good. Well Danielle this was your second week on the block, it was also your second week surviving the block why do you feel you keep getting nominated?
D. Ya know I feel like they probably see me as a threat, they probably think that I’m a good competitor even though I haven’t won anything. Um and because I’m in a showmance and when you’re in a showmance you’re automatically public enemy #1, so I don’t blame them for putting me on the block two weeks in a row, I’m just very thankful some of my houseguests and America have had my back and as long as I get put on the block every single week, but I survive every single week that’s just going to make me stronger in the game, no one knows what it’s like to be in the house and be on the block and have to fight for your life, and I feel like I’ve gotten to see that early on, and just really gotten to play the game, so if I were to go home I know that I fought hard, I played the game and I really have enjoyed every minute of it.
Julie. Good to hear. Kryssie, you received the very first care package from America congratulations on that, now it gave you the power to keep one houseguest other than yourself safe this week, how hard was it to make your decision?
K. Um ya know there’s a matter of difficulty that goes into making any decision in this house cause you really do need to think long term, it was not simple, I definitely bounced ideas off of everyone here, but in the end I felt like last week Jason was given the short end of the stick being nominated just because he’s been here before, so I did that and I made a couple of deals that didn’t necessarily come through (with Alex), and I stand by my decision and I’m very glad that I saved him.
Julie. Alright. Morgan, now America had a surprise for you this week..
M. That they did.
Julie. They decided you would be one of the have-nots, you, Scott and Monte. Did that surprise you that America chose you?
M. Honestly, no it didn’t, in the back of my mind I kinda had a feeling like in my gut it was gonna be me..
M. I couldn’t decide, ya know, Monte clearly wasn’t America’s favorite, so I don’t know if it was because I was friends with Monte [yes] or I’m kinda a girlie girl so it might be funny to hear me squeal over eating slop, which I did, so it was in the back of my mind, and it sucks I’m not gonna lie, it is not fun.
Julie. Well fortunately for you, you can not be picked as a have-not two weeks in a row.
M. Thank the lord.
Julie. Alex, your HOH ended with America’s nominee, Monte going home, are you at all concerned that 3 people you put up on the block are still in the house?
A. I mean absolutely when that happens it’s just kind of an awkward situation, but because America has so much power this season it’s probably going to happen more often than not, you just never know, so yes I am concerned but I’m going to keep fighting, I’m going to keep playing this game and I’m just going to see what happens.
Julie. Alright. Shane, you’ve made no secret of your affections for Danielle, what is it like being in a relationship knowing that you’re being watched 24/7.
S. I try not to think about that people are watching, it’s pretty amazing though, coming into the show you don’t realize, like oh I’ll have a showmance, your just in with the person for 24 hours a day and your emotions are heightened by like a thousand, so it’s not like real life, it feels like I’ve been with her for like 3 months ya know, being in here is so long but you know you’re connection with someone gets really close, you don’t realize it and then it just hits ya and you’re like oh my gawd this is really happening, but like you know um people watching whats happening it’s just I’m being myself I’m not gonna hide my emotions or how I feel about a person, so um yeah.
Julie. Good for you.
S. It’s really intense………..
Julie. We’ve had marriages and at least one baby come out of this, I’m just saying. Scott, don’t worry I’m going to get you off the hook I’m going to move on to Scott. Scott, congratulations you’re the new head of household, now Scott you have now seen two of America’s nominees go home, will that influence the way you choose your nominees?
S. Absolutely that’s something you need to keep in the back of your mind, uh, the first two weeks the HOH’s had to nominate 3 people all 3 people stayed so that’s a lot of blood to get on your hands, so I’m definitely hoping to make a smart decision with my nominees just in case America doesn’t go my way.
Julie. Alright, well with Monte’s eviction that means everyone but Scott is eligible for eviction this week, whether it’s Scott nominees or America’s. Scott as the new head of household you will soon have to make a very important decision as you choose whom to keep safe and which two houseguests to nominate for eviction.
That’s all for now everyone, but I’m sure I’ll see you all soon enough, goodbye houseguests.
